Woodworm or beetle infestation is the general description of various types of insect that live in timber.
Typically this is in unpainted/untreated roof, timbers, floorboards, joists etc.
It is very rare to see the beetle which is active during the summer months. However, ‘tell-tale’ flight holes (see picture above) where the insect has burrowed can be seen.
Our surveyor can diagnose the problem and recommend suitable treatment. In some cases the infestation is so severe that the only option is replacement of the infected timbers.
In most cases a water based insecticide spray will kill off the beetle and prevent re-occurrence.
