Dry Rot usually occurs where there is damp in the property combined with poor ventilation. These two conditions are ideal for ‘fungal attack’.
Dry Rot is common in ground floor suspended timbers with inadequate air-bricks to ventilate and damp walls.
It is also common in roof-space timbers due to rain penetration through roof coverage or leaking gutters.
All rot affected timbers can be safely removed and replaced with pre-treated timbers. All surrounding timbers can then be sprayed with a fungicide solution to prevent re-occurrence.
